Filippi is known for its great variety of volumes regarding Venice in every aspect: encyclopedias about the entire history of Venice, as well as essays about the administration of the Serenissima, and collection of local songs, games, and traditions.

This book shop is on two levels: on the ground floor you’ll find international books about Venice, guides, and best sellers; on the first floor it is possible to find classics and academic books, as well as books for children.

The “Libreria Toletta” book shop was founded in 1933 and is the oldest book shop in Venice. Along with new publications and best sellers, the “Toletta” offers thousands of classics from the most known and appreciated Italian publishing houses. Besides the great offer of Italian books and academic books targeting the university students of the area, this book store also offers a selection of English books, guides, and best sellers.

There are two Marco Polo book shops: one which offers a great variety of independent publications, the other the widest collection of English/American books in town

Located in Calle Lunga Santa Maria Formosa, in the district of Castello, the “Libreria Acqua Alta” will stun you for its incredibly creative book shelves: books are stored and on display on gondolas, canoes, and bathtubs! Furthermore, books are even turned into furniture and architecture themselves!
