The 25th of April in Italy is a national holiday, for it celebrates its “Liberation Day”. For Venetians this day is even more important as it’s also the day of the Saint Patron of the city, Saint Mark.
Celebrations take place in the Basilica di San Marco, in front of religious and civil authorities of the city.
On the 25th of April, it is also tradition for men to give a “bocolo”, a red rose, to their beloved woman.
