Hundreds of people wearing exceptional costumes come to Venice every year to celebrate Carnival

Every year hundreds of thousands visit Venice during Carnival, to admire the incredible Venetian costumes that can be seen walking around in Venice.

People from all over the world, and a special mention here goes to France, come to Venice during this time to celebrate Carnival the way it is meant to be, with masks, costumes, balls, and parties. This way of celebrating gives the sensation of being part of a movie, or to be sent back to the time of the Serenissima.

While Carnival in the past centuries was synonymous with excesses, nowadays it is a moment during which some Venice and Carnival lovers gather to celebrate the most known Venice festivals wearing exceptional handmade costumes and masks.

Words cannot describe the beauty or fun of Venice Carnival costumes, so we created a vast gallery portraying some of the most spectacular costumes we captured on our walks in the Saint Mark’s area.
