Chasing the eyes of the masks, to disclose the soul of the Carnival in Venice

Shot in Venice, Italy, during the Carnival 2016, this short film seeks to capture the life beyond the masks and costumes.

For 10 Centuries, every year, the Venice Carnival has been part of the everyday life of Venice. In most recent years, however, the number of onlookers is greatly outnumbering those who actively take part in it. We want to thank all those people who make Carnival possible with their work, their creativity and all those who keep it alive by wearing their stunning costumes.

The concept that “the eyes are the mirror of the soul and reflect everything that seems to be hidden“, is at the base of these shots, which try to discretely dive in the eyes of the people behind the masks, to discover the beating heart of the Venice Carnival.
