Two young brothers commit their lives to preserve their family business at beautiful San Leonardo's fruit and vegetables market
Since its foundation after WWII, the San Leonardo Market has been providing the local population, and in particular the inhabitants of the Cannaregio district, with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Just as for the Rialto Market, the decrease of the Venetian population, the change in habits, and the competition of supermarkets has led the market to shrink in size over the decades.
These challenges led most owners in San Leonardo to sell their vegetables stand licenses. However, Marco and Nicolò, two young Venetian brothers, have decided to work even harder to keep their family stand running, guarantee their fond customers great products and a wonderful service, and recently even open a new fruit and vegetable shop close by!
So if you’re in the Cannaregio area, looking for great raw materials and in particular local production and local delicacies, and you’re willing to support Venetian family businesses, you should definitely consider checking out Marco&Nicolo’s stand and shop!
