Murano glass beads created through the energy of a fighter and the passion of an artisan
It is often off the beaten path that it is possible to find some little gems. This, indeed, is the case of the beautiful Murano Glass pearls shop, opened at the beginning of 2018 by Senegalese torching artists Daouda Gueye.
Daouda came to Italy to pursue a kick boxing career, and while in Venice he had the chance to meet bead making Master Moulaye, who taught him this ancient Venetian art. Since then, Daouda started pouring his great energy and joyful character into the creation of fine and detailed Murano Glass beads, and their combination into fabulous and unique necklaces.
His first Murano Glass workshop and shop had to stop in 2012 because of a sudden increase in rent – a problem well known by all Venetian artisans and ex-artisans – but Daouda’s love for the creation of his own Murano Glass art never faded and lead him to finally find a new shop where to pursue his passion.
If you’re curious to see how Murano Glass necklaces and bracelets created with passion, joy, and attention to detail look like, then Daouda’s workshop is a place that will satisfy your curiosity!
