This historical library almost had to close, but was saved thanks to the love and passion of an authentic book lover
Located in a small alley in the Saint Mark’s area, the big and historical Goldoni book shop almost had to close because of the ever increasing costs of the rent. With the great relief of the Venetian community, the 71 years old entrepreneur Igino Pastrello, who worked his whole life as a bookseller, decided to step in and actively work and invest to save this historical shop.
This book shop is on two levels: on the ground floor you’ll find international books about Venice, guides, and best sellers; on the first floor it is possible to find classics and academic books, as well as books for children.
