When traditions help raising fund for the community

A characteristic of Venice social life is the great number of associations that aim at improving the city and the quality of life for Venetians. On a busy and wonderful night, filled with beautiful music and choruses on rowing boats, locals have joyfully and consciously taken part to a organised fundraising by filling up the pubs and restaurants on the Fondamenta degli Ormesini, as their revenue will be donated to AVAPO Venezia ONLUS, a local non-profit committed to improving the quality of life of cancer’s patients.
We are very proud to say that from the rowers to the businesses, from the musicians to the singers and to the locals, everyone played an important and active role in this beautiful event that will help people who most need it and is yet another clear sign that Venice is a unique and alive city 🙂

This evening was really, really, really beautiful, and we hope it could take place regularly and bring together people for good causes as well as helping to keep our traditions strong and healthy.

I'm visiting Venice. Why should I follow your recommendations?

The way you visit Venice has an impact both on the quality of your experience and on Venice itself.  Chilling, exploring, shopping, eating and drinking where the locals do, can make a huge impact both on the memories you bring home and on the local economy and community.
