Alberto is one of the world greatest experts and master of artisanal hand-made marbled paper and the person who reintroduced this ancient technique in Venice in 1977. Alberto discovered this almost forgotten art in his twenties and went on a journey that brought him from Paris to Turkey, where he learned from the Turkish masters how to create the “ebrù” (cloud, in Turkish) papers.
Respecting this art which developed around 1300 C.E. in Japan and China, Alberto creates every new design respecting the ancient traditions and techniques, making use of his experience, taste, passion, and manual ability to create amazing colour combinations and patterns.
From notebooks, to papers, to prints, every creation at Ebrù is entirely handmade in Venice by Valese and shows the unique and favulous touch of one of the greatest paper masters worldwide.
